ASRA THUNDERBIKE NATIONAL WIN TO ESTOK AND BUELL AT VIR
Estok Takes Season Points Lead as Bilansky Crashes Out of Race
ALTON Va., (June 24, 2007) – Deeley H-D/Buell Canada/Ruthless Racing rider David Estok took over the American Sportbike Racing Association (ASRA) Pro Thunderbike series season point lead after riding a Buell XB12R to a convincing victory at the seventh annual VIR Festival of Speed at Virginia International Raceway.

Estok took the race and championship lead on lap five of the 12-lap Thunderbike National when the previous Thunderbike points leader, Hal’s H-D/Buell Hal’s Speed Shop rider Dan Bilansky, crashed after making contact with Suzuki rider Brian Kcraget as he tried to pass Kcraget for the lead. Estok was close behind in third place at the time, and managed to avoid the incident. Estok went on to win the race by 7.002 seconds at an average speed of 83.077 mph. Nate Kern, aboard a BMW R1200RS, was second, followed by Deeley H-D/Buell Canada/Ruthless Racing rider Darren James, riding a Buell XB12R. Bilansky and Kcraget retired from the race following their crash.

“I was lucky not to get tangled up with the racers in front of me when they came together,” said Estok. “That was shaping up to be another duel for the win before they went down. Thanks to the Deeley crew for putting a fast, reliable Buell under me again today.”

Buell riders Joe Rozynski (Sound Waves/Hal’s Speed Shop) and Sam Rozynski (Sound Waves/Hal’s Speed Shop) finished fourth and fifth in the Thunderbike National. Kern was the fast qualifier for the event, with a lap of 1:34.311 on the 2.26-mile road course at VIR.

After four of eight ASRA Pro Thunderbike rounds, Estok leads the series with 117 points, followed by Bilanksy with 101 and James with 94.

The next event on the eight-race 2007 ASRA Pro Thunderbike series schedule is the Road America Festival of Speed, July 6-8 at Road America, Elkhart Lake, Wis.
