So which Sporty should I be looking for to make into a Street Tracker. I know you guys have mentioned it before but I wasn't paying attention.

If it was me, I'd get a pre rubber mount Sporty. I would look for a 1998 to a 2003 model. To keep it cheaper and easier, try to find an 883 with the wire wheels. There are plenty of cheap ones around. I have found some as cheap as 2 grand.

Thanks. Everyones unloading their toys and I'm just hoping to help out. Plus a project like this will keep me away from all the neat, unaffordable stuff that's coming out this year.

One of this month's print mags (CW or Motorcyclist) has a page on a very neat street tracker conversion. The whole kit with tank, bodywork, etc. is available for $3k, or you can get bits and pieces. The complete kit includes a trick high-mount exhaust system. I'll browse it tonight for the website, I think it's JWX or something like that.

Zackly! Found one for 2.5K on Craigslist. Hope it's not gone already.

I don't know if this is the street tracker you're working on, but it's damn nice:
