Default Please offer advice or suggestions. Thanks.

I am considering buying a Harley Davidson trike. My concern is for my lack of experience riding a bike and my ability to safely operate a bike. I am 50 yr old and have been a double amputee most of my life (below knee times 2). I function very well with prostheses; in fact you wouldn't know it until I told you. My main problem with a bike would be my lack of ankle flexibility to shift gears (it might be a little cumbersome for me); I'll be ok on the brake side. I drive tractors, trucks, or anything else (clutch or automatic). Drag racing a car is my hobby. My only experience on a bike is with my Honda scooter (because of automatic trans). By now, you likely think I'm nuts to go from a scooter to a touring HD trike, even with good legs. And maybe you are correct? I will get a trike to compensate the balance part and I'll probably go with an electric shifter on the HD. I'm considering a used HD and the Lehman Renegade conversion. If I get a trike, I will be very selective in riding, entirely on my country roads near home to ensure mine, and my wifess safety. (by the way, my wife is very supportive to get one) Please offer guidance/opinions, etc. Am I being unrealistic? I am very determined and I'm confident I can overcome any 'roadblocks' to joining the HD riding fraternity. Thank you very much.

Hopeful HD Rider.
