I have 05 electraglide with ABS. It is the best system I have heard of or tried. It is worth its wait in gold in my opinion. ABS is why BMW started taking over the cop bike market. To many cops locking up & going down. Honda and HD came out with ABS to regain market share & Kawasaki quit making cop bikes altogether. My personal bike is a road king standard that I put a police seat on. It does not have ABS and I can't equip it with ABS no matter what I spend on it. As much as I love it I am thinking of selling it just to get one with ABS.

I'm Salaried, so it doesn't matter how much (or little) I work, it pays the same.
Only, today was one of them "Workin' Days". Half a Dozen minor projects this morning, then had to basically orchestrate a Planned Shutdown "on the fly". I had to tear-down the Mill, pull off the current Die (imagine a 36" diameter, 34" long 4" thick tool-steel cylinder with ~3600 holes drilled radially in a 12" band around its middle, weighs about 1900lbs) remove the Roll-adjust faceplate, hump that (120lb) sumbiotch to the Machine Shop across town so they could install some bolt-inserts. Come back, pull out the old Die Rollers (Imagine two bearings that are 15" wide and 12" deep, weigh about 550lbs each), install the reconditioned Rolls. Go back to the Machine Shop to fetch the faceplate, install it, then the new Die (we're experimenting this go-round with a new 2-piece, sucker weighs even MORE than a standard Die). Re-install the Lineator Gearbox (95 lbs), adjust the Rolls (we run about 0.002" clearance on one roll, about 0.005" on the other for our zero-point). All I have Tackle for is the Die and Rolls (Thank God I have THAT!) After all that, then the WORK began......

Me too. There's a guy on another board who's about 79, owns three sport bikes and rides 'em all the time.
It's good to know there are such amazing people out there. |

Oh yes, my '04 FZ6 has been absolutely plagued with Engineering miscues and technical problems.

Heh, somebody must have noticed the nostril-marks on the grindstone - got my paystub today, found out there was a raise in it!
It just nets me $60 extra a month, but hey! It's better than nothing! That's like, what - half or a third of a bike payment nowadays?

Buz--
Meant to get back to you earlier, somehow didn't. Thanks for your response; nice to see a friendly out there! I guess it's just as cool hearing someone say something nice about your bike as is is seeing someone admire it at a stoplight. Best, Wes |
