Gen Y may not. But Gen Y+x may. Trends, tastes, and culture seem to run in cycles. And Gen Y, or whatever, isn't the tsunami of numbers that the Baby Boomers were. Additionally, no one stays Gen Hip and Young forever. I used to look at nothing but sportbikes and now, I'm drooling over an M50.

Shrug. But I voted against Dubba both times so what do I know?

"It won't be enough for Gen Y who call HDs "old fart" bikes."

Oh, look. Kpaul heard one twentysomething call H-Ds "old fart" bikes. So all Gen-Y'ers call H-Ds "old fart" bikes.

Those are more effectively known as "Channel Hammers". With a bit of selective grinding to one of the handles, it makes a passable slotted-screwdriver as well. Half a toolbox in the palm of your hand!

Too bad the only thing caught in it was himself. He's gnawed-off three limbs, and is STILL stuck in that Four-Asterisker..........

It's the '04-'06 FZ6/R6, R1 and FJR - it's a TPS issue, Yamaha has issued a recall.

The "problem" with the new FZ1 seems to center primarily around the fact that ***** Boehm doesn't like Yamaha, is being "forced" to ride an FZ1 as a long-termer, and is busy picking every nit and whining and complaining on the record every chance he gets.

A few other moto-journos have commented about low-end power (or the lack thereof), but Mitch the ***** is far and away the most vociferous and insipid of the "naysayers".

He's done for Motorcyclist what Ehrenberg did for Mopar Action -- turned it into a whining diatribe against anything that isn't his own personal pet project, and a platform to extoll his own "virtues" of how he's the only person who really knows anything about the subject matter at hand -- including any designers or engineers and mechanics who may have had a hand in development of a particular macine, readership be damned.

I've yet to read a test on the FZ1 that didn't mention "a great bike let down by poor fueling." That includes the UK magazines, one of which called for the Yamaha EFI guy "to be tortured, shot then tortured some more." The new F2000i ad is directly addressing the fix for the FZ1.

So, while Mitch may cut a pretty big path in the moto magazine world, I haven't seen any reports that contradict his opinion.

Pretty much on the money. You rode em and I still ride em. Nothing wrong with a well maintained Shovel.

I'm sure you are speaking form experience, as usual. Which Harley do you own?
