"I'd buy buy the Road Glide. "

I'd expect nothing less from a card carrying GPTB member. Especially one that is OG.

I have 2 ElectraGlides.

1988 Sport has 190,000+ miles on the original motor.

Has never, not one time, left me on the side of the road.

And it hauls a large Watsonian sidecar for the last 45K miles.

2003 Classic 60,000 and counting.

Hasn't left me standing around looking stupid yet, and that is how it is supposed to be.

Had a 82 FXR, abused it and still had 85K on is when sold.

It left me on the side of the road several times, all my fault.

Unbiased? Kinda hard not to be. Do own a BMW though.

My point was reliability has improved. My 1997 has had only brakes in 40 k miles...thats pretty good. And even the 85 wass pretty good...the clutch was problematic but subsequent designs are much better.

My son's GSx6 had more problems than my 97 harley......of course his riding style had a lot to do with it. Im sure with your gentle riding style, maintenance is less an issue.

It would be a perfect compliment to my Bonnie too, a Road Glide for traveling and sh*tty weather, the Bonnie for back road fun and frolic......

I put two Stators on my '97 VFR in 25k miles, I put 60k miles on an "unreliable" AMF Shovelhead FLH and replaced 1 exhaust valve...

your point was?............

I have 2002 Fat Boy from new and not a single problem yet. Not one. It is seriously underpowered but if you don´t mind that it is a very good bike. Also good in town traffic.
