Default Re: Trailering Harleys in China

Whoa, hold on. Don't you need a specific permit from the motorcycle comisar detailing just where you're going plus a police escort to ride a motorcycle anywhere in China?

Maybe they can trailer them around. A new market for exported goods from the USA? Harley trailers? Kind of like CHiPS, just strap them to a trailer and presto. Instant ride. Keeps the miles down too.

You forgot the massive exports of fringed arm chaps. No self-respecting biker leaves the house without em.

And doesn't the USA still hold the patent on bailing wire?

Soon another strong export item to China.

Right, but the problem is, the Chinese can't afford to buy anything we make, and all their stuff is dirt cheap, so trade is a one-way deal. Wal-Mart is leading the way into selling us into oblivion. Meanwhile, Americans had a less than zero percent savings rate for the first time last year, while the Chinese saved 40% of their income. We are much more of an enemy to ourselves than the Chinese are to us. Oh, and let's not forget we're $9 trillion in debt and social security it about to go bust. George Bush has done more to destroy this country than the Chinese ever could. All in the name of corporate greed.

That's bull*****. We've led for decades, but that's starting to change. We're burning coal while Europe is developing new technologies for wind and solar power. France is transplanting people's faces, while we refuse to research new technologies for regrowing people's spines and curing God knows how many diseases, for fear of pissing off the Jesus freaks.

The whole rugged individual thing ain't gonna be easy.

In country with a billion people, even if you're a one-in-a-million kind of guy, there's still a thousand just like you.

Wait a minute - didn't Nancy and Harry say that Soc Security is in fine shape and should never be touched?

Go H-D! Sell some more bikes (and clothes, and "lifestyles"....) and make some more money (profit) so that my shares of stock go up. Now they just need to load that store with some new Buell Lightnings and get the Chinese smiling while they take the curves.

H-D and Buell build some very nice motorcycles that many people around the world want to buy. All Americans should be proud of what they have done over the past 20 years. A string of Chinese dealerships will only help the cause.
