I've owned about two dozen bikes, US, Asian, and Euro, over the last several years. Now I have a HD Springer Classic which is just plain enjoyable to ride, and a Buell XB9R for the track and sport biking. Just did a 2100 mile weekend on the Springer and getting ready for four days in the NC/Ga mountains on the Buell. I don't find HDI bike worthless at all.

Funny I think I wrote about this two years ago on MO and the GPTB (Gray Pony Tail Brotherhood* ) said I was full of it....Good article MO sure to strike up some good lunch hour conversation.. Remember longride and Buz, Gen Y and X have grown up with Japanese cars, TVs, mp3 players, steros, etc. i.e. No Buy American tendency. I think Triumph and Ducati are in a better position for the future than Harley.. But they invested in new technology. Put a better engine in the Buell and it might help Harley's fate more than all the marketing stuff they do.

My daughter is the same way...I was suprised. But this girl has an ipod, cell phone, pda, laptop, etc... She looked at a brand new Honda Rebel and I thought it was really old. i.e. should thought it was a used bike that someone fixed up... All her friends, she is kind of tomboy, usually boys all think my "old" 01 Ninja is "bad"... or something i.e. they like it ..

Totally agree with you. i.e. I have been saying it for years. I didn't see your post until after I posted. If Buell/Harley do what we both want I am positive we will be vindicated... My daughters gen like the looks of the Buell but they aren't dumb they will investigate the engine...
