Looks like the bike did it's job. It left some loving it, and the rest foaming at the mouth. Pretty funny how the mention of the evil 'Harley' gets the hair on some people's neck to stand on end. I'd bet most of the ones that get bought never even get started, much less see a race track. Buy it, hang it in a heated garage for 15 years and then sell it for 3 times what it's worth. Makes a nice conversation piece whilst sipping some beers and twirling the wrenches. I remember when the XR1000 was a slow, overpriced bike. I wish I was stupid enough to get one in 1984. Try to find a cherry one and see what the price tag is. This one is an instant classic.

Default Destroyer

The Harley CVO production, Destroyer name and street legal drag bike moniker will boost sales.

It's just another creative marketing scheme and a good one at that.

Lets take a bike, put parts on it that should come stock at this price, give it a cool name and BAM! Instant demand.

Who cares what it costs?

It's called the free market and we all get to make our own choices and spend our hard-earned money as we see fit.

Default wheelie bars

You are 100% correct.

I care what something costs and less for more doesn't make sense.

Even if I had the liquid cash to blow on that bike I wouldn't. It is a completely illogical purchase.

"It is a completely illogical purchase."

Then so is a 'Busa or a R6 or ZX9, all will easily do twice the street speed limit, they're not comfortable, they aren't very economical (for motorcycles) and there's no luggage storage.

Why not just buy a bike with a top speed of 80 mph that does 0-75 in 3 seconds, has panniers and a relaxed riding position.

Logical motorcycles are called cars....pfft!
