Default Harley is not the vehicle leader.

Before you claim that crown for Harley, you might want to check on a little Japanese company, called Honda. They passed five million motorcycles a year a few years back. And that doesn't include their cars.

Sean,

Your investing advice is quite wise. You sound like Benjamin Graham to me.

When China and Taiwan weigh in, they will primarily hurt the Japanese. No one who can afford a $15K bike is going to ponder buying a Hyosung instead. Harley has one of the best brands in any industry and piles of money. How hard could it be to build a serious v-twin sportbike engine, like the lump in the Superduke 990? Think what a Buell would be like if it had an engine like a Ducati 999. This should be a no-brainer for a company capable of hiring any engineer and absorbing any development costs. Sometimes I think they're brilliant; other times, I think they have their heads up their fundament. The V-Rod engine is another case entirely. Too big to fit in a sportbike, Harley risks cannibalizing existing Big Twin sales if it puts that engine in another bike. But what a great exercise for the CVO group ... Give us a V-Rod-powered Road Glide!

I agree. Make sure you keep the chaps that have the butt in them.

Nothing will ever be as funny as buttless chaps, I laugh every time I see someone wearing them. Some supposdely tough harley guys and they've got on buttless chaps, what a clown.

I like Ducati a whole lot, but there isn't much volume. I trades about 100 shares as day and has dropped from $14.20 to about $13.05 in a week.

With more competition from Japan what would the expect? Most of the dealerships up here in Minnesota have completely sold the 05 inventory in just a couple of weeks! Everything went. My dealership called me to say if I don't get down I'll lose my new duc..
