Oh ho ho. What's this "we" stuff? I see plenty of sportbikers in shorts and sandals all summer long. In fact I seldom see guys on Harkeys as poorly clad as many of these dweebs on their supersports.

I guess that means that there is no corner on the market for stupididty, eh?

However, the idea of @ssless chaps is not the least disturbing if you just think of them gracing Angelina Jolie.

I've always thought Angelina Jolie gracing my chin would make a lovely fashion statement

I suppose she could wear chaps if she wanted.....

I rode a '51 Gold Star BSA, which I bought even though I was sponsored by Motorcycle Specialties of South San Gabriel (a Harley Dealer). I usually rode a knucklehead in drags, a HD Hummer in 125cc races and the very first K-model ever on a flat track (Carroll Speedway 1/2 mile). We took the dealer sample and converted it to flat track without ever putting it on the showroom floor. By the way, Larry Bornstein was one of the big twin desert riders.

Pretty cool. You guys rode stuff with little or no suspension. I can't imagine horsing a tank-shift 45 Harley through the Jack Pine, or a 300 lb Gold Star across Catalina Island's scrub.

There's a nice picture of Mert Lawill on a KRTT in the April '05 edition of CW. Pg. 66.

You must remember all the neat tracks LA had way back when. Culver City. Santa Monica. Perris. I'm too young for that era, but I've read about it.

Wasn't the Hummer a copy of a pre-war DKW?

What do you ride now?

If this is Photoshopped then I'm a Chinese jet pilot. There's no way you could fake the onboard shots.
