I'd applaud HD if they'd get control of their dealers. Dealer list prices being $2-$7K over MSRP, depending on the model, is rediculous. It's even more rediculous when you walk through their door and get treated like your dung on their boots. For me, I refuse to do business with their dealers, even if HD comes up with a decent machine. And yes, I have taken a considerable chunk of change to places where the bikes have proven reliable and the dealers treated me like a human being.

If the gentleman owns a Colt SAA, then the design goes back to 1870. (45 Colt)

I wonder how many Asian bike reps are signing in under "anonymous?' Are they feeling some new pressure from HD? If they don't admit it, the truth's not there. Hey! Let's hear it for good Ol' competition. It goes back and forth and we, the riders, benefit.

Porsche Engineering, like many large companies has alot of American leadership. We're not living in a box anymore.

In my opinion, Harley screwed the pooch with the V-Rod. Why? It doesn't look like a Harley. Sure it now goes like hell, but don't try riding it in anything but a straight line. Willie G. Davidson was on the design team because of his last name, but he seems to know nothing of Harley Davidson. The V-Rod looks like a Yamaha or any other run of the mill cruiser. Didn't Harley learn anything from BMW. Power isn't everything. BMW's sales have continued to rise with their new bikes because they are still uniquely BMW. They have character. I believe Harley has lost this with the V-Rod. I guess time will tell.
