Not nearly as stupid as the dork I saw that had tassels hanging from his BRAKE LEVER that almost dragged on the ground.

Even though I ride a cruiser myself (a lightweight Japanese one), I've never understood the whole fringe thing. It's almost as if they're saying, "My bike's as heavy as a bison & I want it to look like one too!" Heck, some of the riders remind me of buffalo too.

I was wondering what goes with those little pocket books that mount on the front of Harleys under the headlight, now I know.

The Burger Barn is where squids hang out on Wednesday night and compare magazine stats.

Fringe wearers hang out where there is beer. Lots of beer.

Great concept and they help slow that bad boy down too. Just as well. It's too damn fast.

One other thing, as others have said, this fringe thing is just hard to get a handle on. What exactly is manly about fringe, even if it is leather? I just don't get it. I mean I 'get' the Harely/cruiser thing, even if I would never own one, but this just escapes me.

It's the whole wild west /mountain man thang they've got going. Last free Americans and all that noise.

Apparently the fact that 1.3 million of them all look the same and ride similarley customized bikes doesn't detract from the rugged individualist personna.

I'm not talking about the HD riders that ride for the fun of it, I'm talking about the village people wannabes that we love to poke fun at.
