At least HD is offering a recall. I don't remember Suzuki or Honda ever recalling all those millions of bikes they sold with defective voltage regulators that sometimes caused harness fires.

It'll cost them $10-$12 million . They'll build goodwill with their customer base. They'll get their customers back in the store (not that many of them aren't regulars anyway). At the cost of around $39 per bike. Makes sense to me.
