Well,
For starters I don't bar hop and don't go around looking like I'm homeless so the rubber mount won't be for me. I also like to ride long distance but do not like to wrench so that leaves all Hd's out including the vrod.. I guess I just don't like cruisers basically cuz don't like the gonacology chair position. Just not ready to deliver. Thanks don |

That's great! Your rant is short but pointless.

You apparently haven't ever owned a Harley. My dresser is my first Harley and maintenance besides tires and brakes has been nonexistent. It starts as easy as a car and runs without a hiccup. I've got 30,000 miles on it and expect to see at least 100K since it runs so well. All my other bikes have been made in Japan and high maintenance was their middle names. Constant valve and cam chain adjustments and the like. I still have a Honda CB750F that I bought outside Camp Lejeune, NC in 1977 that I rode while I was a Marine. That bike would not hold its valve tappet clearance and I got so fast at it that I did it probably once per week without it taking more than 20 to 30 minutes to perform. If I didn't it's gas mileage would drop to around 20 mpg. I change oil and tires on my Harley and a head temp sensor at 15000 miles. And front pads.

Because the average H-D customer doesn't want a DOHC motor. If you look at most of the people who buy V-Rods, they're not typical HD customers. In fact, most of the ones I've met moved to the V-Rod from Japanese bikes.

Come on man. You should know by now not to argue with the MO reader "experts" who bash Harley based solely on what their friends told them. They obviously know more about Harleys than you do, even though you own one and they've never ridden one.

When you walk into a Harley Dealer all the sporsters are in one place and they look like
redwoods in a pine forest. This is a definate turnoff. It's Harley's Entry bike but Its the highest seat height in the whole line up. I don't know how many guys I know take their girl friends in to buy a sporty and they end up leaving without buying because the babe cannot touch the ground and cutting down the stroke of the suspension is no way to lower the seat height without effecting ride quality. Your entry level bike should never be your highest seat height. |

They already have those on the V-Rod, along with liquid cooling and DOHC.
