That was all strictly from memory. I'm sure I missed something, so feel free to add to it.

I'd say I'll let you try it at Laguna seca but I'll be bringing the Ducati. I'm going to sign up for the parade lap just to do a few laps.

Did you happen to read Egan's column this month?

Are you going to ride from Seattle to Monterey?

Who did these people call? I wish they would have called a few of my friends. They owned and rode Harleys for years. Now they ride Hondas made in Marysville, OH. Harley dealer always had an excuse when warranty work was to be done.

Three years and 28k later, never been back to Honda dealer except to buy oil every 3k.

Yep it was a good column. I plead guilty to ignorance i.e. never owned one. I have only ridden a Sportster. I am trying to go to Laguna with some other sport bike guys. I'll let you know.

Its all happening here in New Zealand. Being summer here the 100 year celebrations for Harley have started and the HOG rally is on for the next 3 days in Wellington. I've just had close on 1,000 Harleys thunder by my office window on their way to the rally site on our waterfront. They don't trailer them here and have all just ridden in from all over the North Island after meeting up about 100 miles away for the ride into town. We have an excellent exhibition on at our National Museum showing Harley over the 100 years so we are in HOG heaven. I don't think I'd ever buy a Harley but don't knock those that do - hey they've got two wheels so they gotta be fun. As for the company itself they have been mentioned many times down here in terms of quality management and the like at all kinds of training venues. I guess they have been doing something right and it sure beat going bankrupt back in the 80s to help keep citizens employed.

p.s. I was surprised at the number of V-Rods that cruised by - didn't know there were that many in our country yet.

Merv.

We might have to get fellow MOrons together for a beer fest. I drag my Duc behind my 25 ft motorhome. It's fun getting a spot right on the track and then you don't miss one second of racing, qualifying, partying, etc. I usually stay 3 nights/4 days.

I haven't bought my spot yet so I'm sure all the primo places are gone.

Sounds like fun. I will be riding the 2100 miles to Milwaukee this summer to join the celebration. The place where I'm staying is housing about 40 or so people coming from Austrailia so I'm sure it will be a wild time.
