I was just looking through eBay at some Fat Boys (noooo, I'm not getting one). There was a bike there with the description "one of the nicest you'll ever find". What is it with many (no I don't have numbers to prove it, LR) Harley sellers that make them think their bike is "one of the nicest around" or "you'll not find another bike like it"?
With race bikes it's the old "never dropped" or "adult ridden". But with the Harleys, it seems to be "best looking" or "cleanest bike around". What's up with that?!

Seriously? For many people, owning a Harley is all about customizing it and making it "yours". Sure, there are zounds of Harleys out there, but there are also a huge amount of ways to make your bike different than anyone elses. Of course this can be done with any bike, but Harley-Davidson seems to be best supported in the marketplace and it is part of the Harley "culture" if you will. Some people spend as much money customizing their bike as they did buying it in the first place. When it comes time to sell the bike, of course they're going to make that part of their sales pitch. It's just like a guy selling his BMW and touting how many "farkles" it has. |

No disrespect to anyone's style choices, but only a fool would think their image of the perfectly customized bike would be someone elses. And by that I mean opening up the wallet & willing to pay for it is different from pumping gas & hearing "nice bike".
