RATS!, was sure hoping that V&H would get behind the VR1000 Superbike program. Drag racing is ok but it's not as exciting as road racing, JMHO.

Would love to see H-D get serious about the Buell and put a "modern" motor in them, it would increase their reliablity 100 fold and make it worth paying the "high entry" price. The Sporty motor is still a paint shaker, old style H-D twin and it tears up the suspension and body bit's of the Buell.

The 60 degree/4valve/w-cooled, ect. VR1000 motor is modern and a production version would make for a very decent sporting motor in the "real world"!

Come on H-D, get serious with the Buell or just get the hell out of sportbikes and roadracing!!, it's put up or shut up time!

The Buell is a great motorcycle, though it is lacking the refinement of other manufacturers, ya know, the ones who have been in business a LOT longer than little 'ol Buell. They ARE currently working on a more modern motor to produce enough power to beat the other bikes in the straits, not just the curves. Buell does not produce bikes soley for the purpose of dominating the track for 2 years, then being thrown away. I will still be riding my buell in 15 years, though it will have broken several small parts, it will be worth fixing (as opposed to your standard-issue plastic bike) it is a classic musclebike out of the crate.

While I do hope that Buell produces 1 model to fight for track honors, I hope they keep the rest true to the tradition of great, classical works of art.
