Probably almost as real as the Moller (sic?) "aerocar" that has got several millions of bucks from investors for 20 years or so but has never flown (as far as I know). Since the speed is a PR agents wet dream, why not say it goes 1,000mph at quarter throttle? That would be just as credible.
