And if the babes are all blind, screeching, cell-phone-yakking harpies like that one, then VFR riders are welcome to them. You did well to get out of that one; your guardian angels were looking after you. Oh, and first post!

Well, second post, anyway. No accounting for insomniacs. It's midmorning on this side of the Atlantic.

Excellent! It's always nice to hear a story in which a lawyer ended up crying. However, I shudder to think about a scenario that included this person driving an SUV while talking on her cell phone with the same lack of concentration on her surroundings (a scenario I encounter frequently during my 30 mile commute in St. Louis).

First of all, ladies, don't take this the wrong way - women are supposed to be superior at managing multiple, simultaneous tasks compared to men. But, women and cars, Danica Patrick etc. excepted, do seem to have a different relationship with the road than men.
I was at a traffic light in Boulder, Colorado (intersection of Canyon and Broadway) and I saw two women waiting for the green left-turn arrow in SUVs, the makes of which now escape me. The first was talking on her phone. The light changed to green, but deeply engaged in her conversation, she failed to notice for 15 seconds, 30, 45. The light cycled yellow, then red. The women behind her, rather than being irate, concerned or otherwise upset by the whole affair, was oblivious. The application of mascara apparently is a similarly all-consuming event. Needless to say, I almost crashed my bike laughing - awesome. I wish I had been able to film that. Just like I wish I had a video of the incident described here, which is incredible but sadly not beyond belief. |

Had he been on an SV650, I bet she'd have been knocked unconscious, maybe killed by a Concours.

Too bad she didn't suffer a stroke and die later on. She is gonna' be imposing her smug-assed attitude on the rest of the world for years to come. Thank God that cop was next to the VFR.
