the guy who builds those things is the coolest, and if you think the bikes are cool, you should see some of the boats he's stuck turbines into. Interesting to see what looks like your average 36-footish fishing boat shooting a pair of big roostertails behind itself...

I'd like to see that turbine put in the Carver that popped up on MO news earlier. Now THAT would be flying on the street.

That gear reduction struck me as the biggest problem. I'd love to see how they do it. From the numbers it sucks up 'only' around 30 hp, not too bad, I would hope it's reliable. Sure would hate to seize up either side. Which would be worse. Turbine blades up the crotch or a drive wheel freeze up? The latter I guess now that I think about it.

I think I'd order some armor plate around the turbine on mine. What's another hundred pounds or so when you have that much power.

I'd think it would have some trouble in the twisties. And those wings might make passing a little hard on the HD you're racing by. Then again, a cage might be a little hard on them thar wings too.

Default Hey babe, wanna ride

Now that is feeling the power between your legs. 'Hey baby, I got somethin' for you to...' Add a v-rider and you be good to go. Then again if the 50Krpm is true, she might never get off.

No, the bike... Oh, You know what I mean. Ah, just forget it.

Wonder if they offer financing... And a very large mil discount... Summer sale... And yes, I'm drooling.

My friend was building Perry-class frigates for the Oz navy, and we went and looked over the power unit. There was a huge gearbox to combine the output of 2 large beer kegs (the engines). According to the plate on the box, input power was 41,000 HP, output max was 40,000. Only 1000HP going into the gearbox oil - hope they had a good cooler.
