I have for sale a new Arai Signet GT in Black Metallic. Size is Medium (7 to 7/18 head size).

I only found one tiny scratch on the helmet and you have to tilt it to see it.

Comes with bag, manual, stickers, registration, lube still on the chin strap. Asking $300 OBO.

This helmet was built 12/01. It is new and never used.

New is new. I doubt that the technology used on that helmet is much different than the technology used nowadays. Still keeps yer noggin intact.

No, you miss the point. Helmets degrade over time, even if they are not being used. The rule of thumb is that you should not use, much less buy, a helmet over five years old if you value your head.

This one has been kept in a cryogenic chamber with the bodies of Mickey Mantle, Michael Jackson, and Larry King.

And technology does march on - Snell issues a minor update every what - two years or so? And has a MAJOR update every four to five. And it sometimes takes a year or two for all the manufacturers to comply.............

This thing has at best a Snell 2000 rating, might even be as old as Snell '95. Snell just announced the requirements for their 2010-spec last month - manufacturers can start producing to that spec as early as Jan '09.

Good luck selling it, but I'll pass.

I was holding out in case there was trouble moving the helmet.

$200.

My head is only worth $3.77. There's gotta be somebody out there with a $200 head. Perhaps someone in Vegas.
