Just because his designs were not to your liking doesn't mean he wasn't good at his job. The guy's design ideas were a little outside the box for Ducati but they went forward with the bikes because there was enough interest to do so. The last bike, The Hypermotard, was/is a great piece of work.
He's opening his own design studio, according to MCN, and would like to design things other than motorcycles. I imagine an auto company or two will reach out to him and apparently he has a liking for boats.

I think he should turn his aesthetic eye(s) towards blimp design.

Too long have blimps been bloated bags of gas. No vision! No passion!

Perhaps I am just a blimp critic. Forgive me.

He had a star-crossed career for sure. He practically killed them with the 999 (shows how open-minded those sportbike types are about new designs, eh?) and then resurrected them with the Sport Classics. The Hypermotard is a winner as well.

Terblanche and Chris Bangle from BMW are probably world leaders in hate mail for sure!
