I think you got it right acrross the board. i really agree on the priller analysis. i hear the r version of the 1098 will be an 1188. These discussions/debates and fights are happening in many clubs right now. I say let ducati do it. its not about formats, its about what makes for good racing.

wsk needs ducati that much i feel pretty sure about.

Default Re: Did I miss something????

Ace has summed up Ducati's position and predicament very well. As has been stated many times, the WSBK bikes are in a, and I quote Ducati, "a MotoGP state of tune," and they're still down about 20hp. This costs a fortune. Ducati is not a large company with bottomless pockets.

Remember that the twins are currently allowed all sorts of internal modifications that Duc is willing to give up in exchange for a displacement increase.

Plus, how much longer do you think twins under the current rules are going to be competitive at the current rate of development? Not much longer. Something has got to give eventually.

I don't want to see one manufacturer dominating the class like we had in the 90s any more than you do. But I also don't want to see Ducati go away or a rulebook that is strictly dictated by engine displacement.

His bike fell over while he was trying to hook up the battery charger clamps.

I crashed it only once. .But they didn't fix all of the damage the first time i.e they delivered it when my wife was home and she didn't check it over. I checked it over and had them come and get so they could fix it right..kNinja looks real pretty now in all of her yellow glory. Can't wait to race longridester.

Default Is this supposed to be a good thing?

What I don't understand is how anyone could want racing twins to "die."

-sarcasm on-

I know, lets have all the bikes in AMA / WSB / Moto GP be the same - exactly the same. The same manufacturer should build all the bikes and they should all have to use the same tires. In fact, while we're at it we should clone Valentino and make all the riders the same too. All the other riders are inferior anyhow, so why bother. Now instead of calling it a race we can call it a parade! I love parades!

-sarcasm off-

Maybe it's just me, but I think that the differences between the bikes, just like the differences between the riders, are what makes racing interesting. If twins need more displacement to make the same lap times for the same investment as a four, then why not? Hell, let's get some 1600cc thumpers out there, and bring back the rotary bikes too!

Anything is fine as long as it makes the engineers keep improving, just like the riders.
