Default Re: Soccer?

Soccer started out with the Celts kicking the heads of captured Roman soldiers around, hardley a girlie-man sport

If you're refering too Andy Rooney's little tumble last week during the Arsenal-Manchester United game, then yes that was a crock, and shouldn't have been allowed.

The ref. was probably a frenchman and overwhelmed with all that fine British manhood on display.

Watching bumpers rust on a '52 Caddie makes baseball look exciting.

Soccer is two 45 minute halfs of intense running, balance and ball handeling trying to work the ball down field and in a position to score, against an equally fit and determained opposing team. How in the world can you call that boring?

As for golf, the only explanation I can come up with is the slow and steady infiltration of the homosexual agenda into sociaty as a whole.

Wild Turkey is pretty good Bourbon, I understand it's quite popular with frenchman and golfers....

I prefer a more refined hooch, such as the skillfull blending of a single malt, and a single grain, as in Jamisons or Bushmils, or a straight up single malt like Glenlivit or Loughavullin. Pure heaven in a glass.

My neighbors are from Greece so we have never-ending soccer arguments.

I just tell him they run around for 90 minutes and don't score and then have a shootout to decide the game. Why don't they just do the damn shootout at the start and go home?

Argueing with Greeks is like trying to herd cats, when ever you get on cornered they take off in another direction

I was in Crete a few times, Fine women, Great food, Beautiful weather and Ouzo. Cradle of civilization indeed. LOL

I think it a good thing that a mainstream sports superstar has an interest in MotoGP. I realize that the NBA is pretty lame now, but back in the 80's and early 90's, Jordan, along with Bird and Magic, brought it to the mainstream.

A Jordan MotoGP team is pretty far fetched, but who knows. I remember when he returned to the NBA after a two year retirement and won several more titles. And yea, he tried baseball too and people are quick to point out that he didn't make it to the Major Leagues. Well, how many guys think they are good enough to try out and make a minor league team?

I think Jordan getting involved with racing, be it with a highter profile AMA team, Montez had a pretty forgettable season, is a good thing for the sport.
