That is a 2 PERCENTAGE POINT difference, not a 2% difference, when it comes to fatalities. In actuality, if you're looking at straight percentages, you have a 67% higher chance of getting killed without a helmet. Same deal with the severe injuries - you have a 50% higher chance of a severe injury without a helmet.

You should be an investment counselor.

What's interesting to me is that inexperienced riders with slower reactions seems to be about as bad as being inexperienced and suffering testosterone poisoning.

Well, I'm no expert on statistics, but that does seem to say your chances of getting killed increase pretty sharply if you don't wear a helmet if you're talking about a thousand crashes, then you have 50 dead instead of 30. But that aside, the word half-assed does seem to describe the study perfectly. Riding experience doesn't seem to enter into the study at all. What is it a about the subject of Motorcycles that makes people so damn lazy? It makes you wonder if all the OTHER studies we pay for are this sloppy, and swallowed whole by the press.
