Anyone that's ever done any long range dirt bike riding has to admire the effort and endurance necessary to compete in an event of this caliber and distance. If either of them finish it would have to be considere as a great victory. Most riders would be spent after just one day! VWW

From MO's own report on the Griffith Park Sidecar Rally...</p> Scott is aiming for the race beginning January 1, 2006. He adds, "We've spent about a million hours building the bike and testing it in the desert and sand dunes, really torturing it. It's a constant evolution."</p>

I wish the brothers the best of luck, I shure hope they are in great physical condition, they are not spring chickens after all. I rode my dirt bike for 4 hours yesterday and I'm paying the price today! Doing the Dakar? Fughetaboutit!

When I was young and just getting into dirt bikes I thought that a single race was an acheivement, then I heard about the Baja1000 and thought, Jesus thats a killer, till I heard about the Paris/Dakar (now Dakar) ralley. I don't know how anyone can ride that far, in those conditions and not drop dead. Maybe I'm getting old, but my 2-3 hours on a dirt bike, swaping out with buddies, rags me out for the next day (and reminds me of how many joints I've abused in my life).
More power to all the people involved, and I'll root for the Americans to show well. |

THEDYÂ’D HAVE TO SEND ME HOME IN A BOXÂ…
by the time I got to Southern Europe. I just screwed-up my back when foot slipped (a tiny, tiny, little bit) on a garage floor. And, IÂ’ll probably be lying here for, at least, another week.
