Nope. Well, I did go across the bridge eventually, but the rain was *mostly* calmed down by then (almost midnight). No, instead I got to spend hours 10 - 15 of a 16 hour drive straight from Albuquerque, NM into San Francisco, CA barrelling up 5 in that TYPHOON that my friend John (whom I was meeting in SF) had referred to as "some rain". It rained on me all the way from Tehachapi to the split where 5 breaks off to go either into Oakland (on 580) or up to Sacto. Fortunately my business in the Bay Area required me to be in the pickup truck, 'cause I never would have made it on a scoot. I swear I drove through 3 times the annual rainfall for New Mexico in that 5 hours.

If they want to prove Darwin was right and drive the way they do in their SUVs when the rains come, let them. It just sucks that they sometimes take other people with them.

I like reading...THE HIGHWAYMAN's.... posts because " the manly rugged Harley man" crap is such bull****** it's funny. Too think that anyone takes this stuff seriously, or believes that Harley riders feel this way is the biggest laugh of all.

Ignore him? No way, he's way too entertaining to ignore! Why don't you get the highwayman to be a guest editor on one of the bike reviews? I could use a few more laughs. That would be hilarious.

Yeah, the phrase "authentic American motorcycling" has me baffled...Americans riding? Riding American motorcycles? Riding motorcycles in America?
