He'll just start calling it an "old war wound".

You'd be better-off having it mounted to a bracket that holds it in front of his face. That's installed in the top of his skull with 40 or 50 3" drywall screws...........

In 19 yrs it's still not totally impresive compared to the Asain brands. It's great because it's possible for an American company can be in the game. We're not winning it. Heck, we're not placing.

No, I'd rather see an intense rivalry erupt between the two of you, with cursing, backstabbing, frontstabbing, and a general noxious-cloud of windbreaking and cat-fighting that degenerates every thread into a BrowingBAR/acecyclins p!ssing match.

But this works too.

Default Engine break-in

I didn't read whichever thread that was in. I will say... a traditional engine break-in is not practical for race and other short-term engines. Typically, race engines see three complete semi-gentle heat cycles, then an oil change and straight onto the dyno. However, street engines generally need to make the piston rings and cylinder liners last a bit longer, plus the typical drop in compression that comes with high-use is somewhat mitigated by the better ring-to-cylinder fit that's achieved from a proper break-in.

Advances in engineering and metalurgy have eliminated many of the problems associated with different alloys and masses expanding at different rates, so most modern engines are at least "capable" of performing near peak pressures and rpms after very few heat cycles. This doesn't mean that it makes no difference wether an engine is broken-in or not. It just means that it is possible to run them hard from a very young age.
