Wishy-washy-waffler-wanker-washout. I might just have to quit and go back to MO, just so I can re-ban you for your obvious trolling activities.

He built a successful company that will stagnate if he's not careful. He's got- what?- 6 working models. All are variations of the same frame. Although they are all slightly different, they are the same. I'm not saying he has to get into any other motorcycle segment, but d@mn, could he just build something that is NOT the same as everything else he builds. Of the 10s of thousands (your claim) of sold bikes, how many are repeat buyers? Maybe 40% or so. If he sells some 30,000 bikes in Buells short history it means that 12,000 of those customers are the base. He's only gained 18,000 "new" customers over the 19 years of business. Less than 1000 new customers a year in that time period. Is that a good growth rate? NO! So, seruzwa, how can a man expect to keep growing his company if he doesn't expand the horizon? Stagnation will kill him. That's why he needs change. People will grow tired of his bikes if he cannot produce a model that can compete in the world marketplace. The only way to do that is to expand he train of thought and vary the motor types and displacements. He really doesn't have a choice if he wants to pursue his world marketing goals.

"I guess it's a sort of welfare state thing with the cruiser buyers giving welfare to the squids. And naturally the squids bite the hand that feeds them, just like in any welfare system."

Awesome.

As long as he doesn't just build another Ducati. Remember what happen to Triumph when they tried to build a 600-4.
