10s of thousands of Buells are on the road, but Eric must change everything because a dozen people on MO say so! HA!

Eric built a successful company out of nothing. I think I'll wait and see what he decides to do about his engines. You know he's got something up his sleeve. And it won't look like a Rotax or a Ducati.

Heaven help him if he takes advice from a bunch of people who are as good at the motorcycle manufacturing business as a bunch of MOrons.

I'D LIKE TO TEACH THE WORLD TO SING

On a hilltop in Italy

We assembled young people

From all over the world

To bring you this message

From Coca-Cola Bottlers

All over the world

It's the real thing - Coke.

And they sang...

I'd like to buy the world a home

And furnish it with love

Grow apple trees and honey bees

And snow white turtle doves.

Chorus:

I'd like to teach the world to sing

In perfect harmony

I'd like to buy the world a Coke

And keep it company

That's the real thing.

(Repeat chorus)

I'd like to teach the world to sing

In perfect harmony

I'd like to buy the world a Coke

And keep it company

That's the real thing

Chorus 2:

What the world wants today

Coca-Cola (background)

Is the real thing

(Repeat chorus 2)

What the world wants today

Coca-Cola (background)

Is the real thing

I'd like to teach the world to sing

Sing with me (background)

In perfect harmony

I'd like to buy the world a Coke

And keep it company

That's the real thing

(Repeat chorus)

I'd like to teach the world to sing

In perfect harmony

I'd like to buy the world a Coke

And keep it company

That's the real thing.

(Chorus 2)

What the world wants today

Coca-Cola (background)

Is the real thing

(Repeat chorus 2)

What the world wants today

Coca-Cola (background)

Is the real thing

The current Guzzi motor drives how many Sportbike models for Guzzi. Oh wait- the answer is 1. And that bike can't be found on the roads, as it's a track only model. Guzzi doesn't catch the same amount of crap because they don't market to the sportbike community. They have a Sport model, but it's just a rip-off of the Breva. They know their market and they play safely in it. So does HD. Buell, on the other hand, is marketed as "America's Sportbike" company. How do you think Eric can increase market share if he doesn't "innovate" his innovative motorcycles? All the technology in the frame, swingarm and brakes is useless if the motor won't keep up with other technologies. He has to step-up the program or Buell Motorcycles will die out. No one here wants that. The guy is genius with engineering- let him design a proper water-cooled motor for his machines and his market share will be 5 fold.

Do whatever the hell you want to your bike, I could care less. Rip out the plant and stuff in 35 chain saw motors if thats what gets it up for ya.

But buying an R1 for the Baja 1000 sounds a little stupid doesnt it? Sitting back and moaning about how the R1 is left in the dust by an XR 650R and whining some more about how if they only added 12" suspension travel and shed 100 lbs it might be competitive against said XR. Then demanding that they do something about it instead of buying the bike that fits the purpose in the first place. Sound Familiar?

acecycleins I admire your patience but this guy doesn't get it.. I am sure you are correct about the break even point for the V-rod. Heck they were selling V-rods out here for 22,000 when they introduced them. .. With HDs profit in the last 5 years only the uniformed would think it would take 10 years to be paid off..

Default Re: Why?

Because they are metal engines machined from metal tools and a proper break in creates a better fit between metal parts which come into close contact with each other. That better fit improves sealing, optimizes wear and provides a small boost in power output over time.
