It wuzn't "dumbass Japanese parts", but rather "dumbass" Buell engineers that led to the various and sundry failures that plagued the XBRR efforts. And will continue to do so until they hire an engineer who actually knows something. The parts [all kinds of 'em] broke because the basic design and tune on the RR motors is impossible. Unless you can re-write the laws of physics, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
Power [torque] can be made out of the Buell motor but not the way they're going about it. Watch what happens this weekend; either the motors will have been softened up to the point where they are not competitive, even on a "technical" course which favors handling, or they won't have been in which case they'll break again. Count on it. |

If you're going to quote me at least be accurate. I don't recall referring to the Japanese parts as "dumbass."

I was kinda hoping to ride Yamaha's corporate Banshee all the way up there. If you can't arrange than for me, how can you expect me to arrange a ride in our Learjet?
The card will be getting a workout, since we're inviting about 100 of our closest friends to a four day all-expense paid Kawasaki soire. Bring your dirtbike gear and I'll see what I can do for you.
