Thanks brother, my 1st time out and trying to vent. If he wants a cc limited race watch 600cc 1000cc or 600cc whatever, and even superbike has only 2 ducs with any backing at all.

Default Can't make the top ten in SuperSport class.

Are you saying a Buell could be SuperSport? Go look at the times in a stock class like 600 cc SuperSport. They wouldn't even make the top 10

"It's obvious why the big 4 Japanese makers have such great quality..."

Umm, maybe because they hire good Industrial Engineers to run their plants? Come on now: explain to us what building a 10/10ths racebike has to do with making a GoldWing run for 300,000 miles between rebuilds.

With all the pre-competition development, I understand the 4 entries all withdrew from the race with failed something or other. I have to assume that in an early discussion about rolling out this effort the first thing all at Buell agreed on, was that their wasn't enough sales productivity with the current model line to fund development of a truly competitive motor. So, they made a fair effort at tweaking the XL motor to its limits, while stirring up the promotional interest of the public with regard to machines like the Ulysses and XB12Ss. But, hey guys, this is still an air-cooled, 1930's-derived OHV design that has no long term legs in competitive racing. And this from me - a HD fan! Erik needs to break free and do what he does best - design a real 1st generation, 21st century Buell motor. Whether HD will fund it is another matter.

really great news for fx it puts a fast bike in the hands of privateers thats why the factory teems are so scared. They would hate to to get put on the trailer by a privateer, racing what the jap fans call antiqated, that is untill it is competative

I'm kinda torn in my response because for it intended role a buell does fine and the racing has'd forced hd to really push a sportster design ,but when pushed it can still compete. if it was'nt fo buell xl motors would not have come this far
