I'm with ya jb. I think it's great that Honda or another factory team can't just buy a victory.

I think the Buell will also have the edge in aerodynamics. Buell concentrated on making it efficient rather than showroom pretty like the R6.

As a Buell owner/enthusiast (y2k M2), my pulse quickens: I'm very anxious to see how they do. Whatever happens, it adds much interest to the proceedings. Good work --

fo shizzle. be cool to see some fresh faces. in fact if a Buell finishes top 3, all a sudden FX might be the funnest AMA class to watch. not that we will get to.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I understand, Honda's complaint is that "unlimited engine modifications" is a newly made-up rule made by order for HD.

if it helps, y not think of it as a race kit that comes on wheels instead of in boxes?

Doncha wonder about the real economics of XBRR? They're selling for $30K, but with only 50 to be sold and with Buell's financial commitment to racing, they might actually cost twice that much to build, especially if development costs were included. So the Lucky Fifty get a hella swell racebike for a fraction of what it would cost to build up from a streetbike. Meanwhile, competitors on other brands--taking the route implicit in the rules--pay full retail to turn their streetbikes into racebikes and end up at a disadvantage to the factory-subsidized XBRR.

as compared to previous FX seasons, when only the guys on factory Hondas had a shot? seems like buell is only evening the playing field at his own expense. it's a foregone conclusion those bikes are worth more than 30k. wonder how many of the 50 will be at Daytona? wonder how many other brands will be in FX?

Oh, Oh, Oh!! Flash back to Daytona 2000? Smith, Picotte? Sitting on his VR1000 while the pit crew desprately tries to shove the rear axle back in after a wheel change. Time ticking away...top 5 finish disappears, top 10... race over...
