Hey Nplateau, I'm with you on this one. Rags like FHM pander to poseurs, and they didn't pick my BMW flat twin (Sean would call it a 180 degree v twin) either. BTW I like both the 500 and 250 Kawasaki twins. VWW

What in the blue hell would you know about a real man? For cryin out loud, you live in a city that made latte sipping nancyboys famous.

Hey.. enjoy your work tomarrow... I'll be in the shop making my son a toddler bed. Poplar.. medium stain... it'll be nice.

I may handload some .308 too. 32.2 grains of IMR 3031.. cci 200 primer... Speer HPBT.. .5 inch groups at 100 yards. Not bad eh?

4VWW says: "(Sean would call it a 180 degree v twin)"

I would? I've never considered myself "Geometrically Challenged". The post you are refering to indicates that I was speaking of "others" on the 180° twin topic.

The Kawasaki WILL NOT go 0-60 in 2.9 seconds, when the rider simply rolls-on the throttle. Not from 5,000RPM and not even from 9,000RPM. That's a simple fact. -Sean

Default Re: Twins for Dummies and MO editors

I said "twin", not V-twin.

Speaking of twins, why don't you go back and re-read my posting where you claim that I stated a horizontally opposed engine was a V-twin. If you can comprehend it, you will notice that I did NOT say that I considered horizontally opposed twins to be V-twins, I simply stated that some "Geometrically Challenged" people have called them 180° V-twins. I even went so far as to say that in reality a 180° would equal a straight line. Get your facts straight, or go home. -Sean

Default Sean, now I know a little bit about how you feel

Sorry to burst your bubble, but IÂ’m just your normal overly enthusiastic motorcyclist and not a paid moto-journalist, who just happened to take the time to write down my experiences and submit it.

Thank you for pointing out my mistakes, next time I will be sure to forward my submissions to you for editing first.

What is your e-mail address???

Default Re: Excellent stuff

Good article. But if somebody gets the impression that current 600 are marginally faster than XB12s they are wrong. If we check the cold numbers, the good old quarter mile results, Honda 600F4i beats XB12s by 0.95 sec.

In layman's terms: "not even close".

In fact even GoldWing is nearer to Buell's ball park as it is only 0.60 sec slower.
