Yeah, you're harsh. The 7 you list represent 99.9% of the reason I subscribe and follow these postings. These "dwarfs" get it. You, unfortunately, do not.

Default Re: BUELLS NOT BAD EH?

Wow, I asked for enlightenment and Longride delivered! I am, however, a little bit confused (this is quite a common occurence with us lower beings, please bear with me). Now this Buell rider who is going to wax my tail, will I be on the Sportster or the Honda 50? The way you worded your rant left me with a touch of bewilderment. I would also like to thank you for allowing me to ask for whatever I like as long as I don't claim to need them. I like that, profound with a hint of arrogance, spicy hot.

Longride, thanks for being there for me. Friends?

The SS Mental Instability has headed out to sea. Captain Kook at the helm and ZRX_Buttock stoking the boilers as fast as he can shovel sh.... er, coal. All ahead flank for the abyss.

Think they'll send us pictures of the three elephants standing on the turtle when they fall off the ends of the Earth?

Default Buells are our friends

The last Buell I rode was a Cyclone. So no, I haven't ridden the new machines. I have, however, read about the XBs and I've spoken with people who have ridden them. I realize first-hand information is the best, but I'm not going to refrain comment for every bike I haven't ridden. Look, I don't hate Buells. I am critical of their motor. I've criticized my own bikes and still enjoyed riding them. As I've said before, at the right price I would even buy one of the new Buells. I just think for the money they're askin' they ought to have a better motor. But hey, according to the multitudes I'm dead wrong.

You've got that right. I'll change my opinion when and if Bellock here finally unholsters some of that "humor" he's threatening. Unlikely!

Default Re: Engine, Engine, number (XB) 9

The "Camero" was killed for a bunch o'reasons, which shan't be delved heavily into here, but among them were lots of corporate wishy-washiness, low interior quality, and, mostly, IMHO, the loss in the price wars -- Fords' marketing campaigns and dealer incentives made the 'Stang a much more 'buyable' vehicle for a long time.

Track- and performance- wise is a different story.

But your main point about the 'yestertech' small block is ... confusing.

The LS1/6/etc engines are ANYTHING but yestertech; if you've driven an LS-6 powered 'vette, it's ... something else. I compared it VERY favorably to an '01 Mustang Cobra (I think, the n/a one) and the chevy felt much smoother and stronger. I've yet to drive the supercharged Cobra though, but, the oval vs. bowtie wars are for another place.

Basically, though, that's my point about the Sporty motor.
