Hello,
I own a 1991 R100 (not R100R, or RT) with about 19,000 miles on it. Once upon a time, a dealer told me it was a 'rare' model. I haven't ridden the bike in 5 years but it ran fine back then. I just posted it on Craig's List to sell it, and much to my surprise, I've had about 8 people express interest in the first few hours. The price I asked was $3000. I paid $4000 for it 11 years ago. So my question is...am I missing something? Could this indeed be some rare model and is worth more than I asked, even in its neglected state? Any places I can look to do more research? thanks Joe |

Does your bike have the "bikini" fairing? Those are pretty collectable.
NADA says the bike is worth $2400 in excellent condition. I think what you're experiencing is a strong interest in older bikes, especially with brands like BMW, Moto Guzzi, Ducati, etc. Do you have a rare, "one of a kind" model that's worth substantially more than $3-4k? It might be. You can check Walneck's listing for comparable bikes, visit a site like www.vintagebmw.org, or hit some classic bike shows. Or, you can go to the dealer who told you it's a rare model, and see how much he'll offer!

Fun Facts to Know and Tell! Thomas Jefferson wrote that the 1st Amendment erected a "wall of separation" between the church and the state (James Madison said it "drew a line," but it is Jefferson's term that sticks with us today). The phrase is commonly thought to mean that the government should not establish, support, or otherwise involve itself in any religion. Its.......A FACT! |
