GS handguards should fit straight on, though I don't know if they'll hit the mirrors on full lock...

Step 1. Don't read Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Step 2. Get two one gallon plastic milk containers. Cut them into the shape of hand guards. Zip tie them to the handlebars. Step 3. Enjoy wet and cold weather riding! |

My hands aren't that big. I use the 1/2 gallon size, and I buy the chocolate milk.
Doesn't have that pasty white look to it. Been thinking about leaving a tab on the bottom when I cut them up, to attach to the bar end.

R1100GS guards bolted right on my R1100RS, hopefully they would fit the RT too. I think they were less than $25 for my 94RS.

Spring for the heated grips and you won't need any handguards. A quick internet search will show you how to install them.
