I used to ride with a couple of state troopers. They to;d me that the watch commanders had told them "don't write tickets on the crap cars. Go after the BMWs and Mercedes. Nice SUVs. They pay their tickets". Anybody who thinks their is no connection between ticket revenues and desire to write tickets is a few quarts low. More tickets means more shiny new toys. It has also amazed me that I have never once seen driver training that focused on watching for or showing consideration to motorcyclists. I asked some teenagers once, that had taken the school's drivers ed. program, and they said motorcycles weren't even mentioned.

They wear open face helmets for the microphone hooked up to their radio system. But I remember that one PD went to full face to prevent jaw and facial injuries.

They gotta` be getting a hell of a deal.Cost of maint. and parts is next to extortion.

Resale is not too good.

However, they fit in well in La Jolla.

The flashing light is supposed to be soothing? And I don't want to see some smiling face give me a ticket. The process sucks and I'd just as soon see Darth Vader write me up as some jackass who is too stupid to wear the right protective gear. There must be a dozen different models of flip-up helmets out there so that argument pretty much falls apart. I think it is a combination of wanting a certain look coupled with "do as I say, not as I do".

"They say it's unfair that we have such quiet and quick bikes."

I think this may start a new slogan: Loud pipes save tickets!

Plus the clutch jobs will now take all day instead of 1/2 hour.

Default Hand Grip Warmers?

Hand grip warmers ......... in San Diego?

Sounds like the local BMW dealers did a good job upselling the option list.
