Defeats the purpose? Why wouldn't anyone want a bike tha's capable of roosting in the dirt and with a simple change of wheels scare the bejesus out of sportbike riders on rough and twisty roads?

Ask Jurgen Kunzel if it would defeat the purpose. Or Danny Eslick, or Aaron Yates, or Jeff Ward, or ANYBODY else for that matter. But, in answer to you question - no, it doesn't. It expands it's purpose.
