How much fun can it be riding behind an old police car?
Hope BMW is footing most of the donation to the charities because $1000 bucks a piece isn't going to cover babysitting these dudes. Anybody catch the title of that article? "A Nice Biker Gang." Ugh. The general public is hopeless. |

I'm suspicious of the whole deal, because every guy in those photos has delicate features. Makes me wonder..........

"a portion" is the key phraze here. Then again... from what I've seen, they'd be better off providing those east LA kids with food. Since aparently most of them would spend 100 bucks on new shoes while starving to death.

More fun than having one follow you around.

Gee whiz guys, maybe ya'll need to borrow some Paxil from Burns. These guys are doing something nice for the community and BMW gets to promote their bikes. The hotels, food, and other accomodations are usually donated free or aquired at a reduced price which gives the donor advertising and the ability for people to sample what they have to offer so folks will come back with their friends/family.
Most rides have police escorts for a safe & organized trip which works well for all involved. Yes, they could donate $1000 worth of food or a coupon for two months of prepaid health care if they really wanted to help but then again, if frogs had wings they wouldn't bump their bottoms when they hopped. |

Let me get this straight. BMW riders need a parts van following them around? I've not seen this phenomenon since the AMF Harley years.

I'm trying to look on the positive side of this, I suppose it makes these people feel good about themselves and buys a few more pairs of $100. Nikes for the kids in the 'hood.
The whole thing just strikes me as slumming at best. I don't know how these Captains of Industry can risk the well being of our economy by doing something as foolhardy as RACING ABOUT ON MOTORCYCLES AT 100 MPH. ! It's just scandalous. Ms. Yoshiyama was right in bringing this nonsense to our attention. You don't see them trying this crap in Grants Pass do you? |
