Default Harsh words from a BMW guy

Hey, don't hold back, VWW, tell us how you feel. We can take it.

The Rockster that gives me wood is the flat white/gloss black paint scheme. I gotta say, though, that I agree with you on the flat black/copper and flat black/green. Yeeecch.

But the public seems to disagree with us....and it's an excellent bike.

Default BMW Announces 0.9% Financing

This is interesting coming from BMW. Typically BMW dealers don't get good sales deals from the factory. This means that they can't ****er much with a prospective buyer. Sounds like now they can.

Thing is, dealer profit is maybe $2,000 on a BMW. Sure, that's two large you say but consider this....

Yamaha dealers make about that on a $10,500 R1. If you're selling a $17,000 K1200LT then there oughta be more money in it for the dealer.

A guy on bmwsporttouring posted the actual dealer cost of the BMW lineup. The margins are pretty small, I think. This was backed up by my buddy who sold BMW's for a while (but now is doing something else).

huh? Why would I ride without a jacket be it 2F or 90F? I ride an 8 valve aircooled Kaw inline 4.

right, but Germany and much of the EU unlike Japan has unions dictating terms of their employment, a whole month when the country shuts down, less than 40hr work weeks etc. So yeah, why shouldn't the BMW's cost more than a Japanese bike to reflect the much higher costs of production? So far BMW has managed not to price themself out of business. We'll see how many more years it takes for the anti-capitalists to destroy the country. And after they lose their jobs as a direct result of voting communists into political office, they'll instead riot and demonstrate against their ex-employer instead of lining up the politicols to be shot or at least run out of town.

Now we know what isn't selling: the soon to be extinct cruiser line, whacko Rockster (yes, I know it's a fine bike underneath- but ohhh that Johnny5 exterior!), soon to be extinct K12GT and the soon to be updated/replaced R-RS - "r.i.p." o' first of the type 259's. I saw my first one on the road in Utah - on the glorious State Route 12 back in Sept 93.

More likely is that Germany will fall back on their usual solution to economic woes. Send the Wehrmacht on door to door "sales".

I like the BMW bikes well enough. It's the BMW riders I can't stand, or anyone with a name with "BMW" in it. I hate those guys.
