No way I wanna Dis the privateers, but it is staring to look like Roller Derby out there. Just seems like, without the factory riders, the equipment and talent get a mite thin around the last three rows.

Jordon? With everything else he has going on, ya gotta wonder how much he wants to add "Savior of American Road Racing," to his resume. But, the media might take that decision out of his hands.

It wil be interesting to see, once the basketball season gets going and producers are looking for back-stories, how often the "MJ roadracing story" shows up during half-times, accompanied by video of him at the track.

The rumor mill is going strong and fast about MJ.

The latest is he is going to feild a superbike team, runing a zook. Hes also looking at some up and coming talent to pilot it. He will probably still keep his buddy on the 600 as well.

It can't hurt the sport to have a celeb like MJ involved in it, until he finds out about the boneheads runing AMAroadracing (tm).

Theres an idea, after he butts head with the AMA afew times, he can start his own racing series up, backed by Nike(tm), no less; and get the profesionalism, and coverage, and payouts up to a new level (not to mention eliminate the stupid rules that have basically 2 classes of 600, and 2 classes of 1000). One can dream.

Default roadracing world sez:

Jordan Team To Run Suzukis On Dunlop Tires

Copyright 2004, Roadracing World Publishing, Inc.

Designers at Nike headquarters near Portland, Oregon are busy designing graphics for 2005 Suzuki GSX-R1000 Superbikes to be fielded by Michael Jordan Motorsports.

Sources close to the team say that Jason Pridmore will be the primary rider and that the team will run on Dunlop tires.

Looks like MJ is going to learn how to make a million dollars in racing.

Start with 2 million.

Easy fix for that.... put in a tough cutoff for qualifying.

To make the grid your qualifying time has to be within some fixed percentage of the pole sitters time... you couldn't make the field if you're like 8 seconds of the pace.

Great way to get around that little "minimum wage" problem.

I highly recommend it.

That's nothing, jellied eel and toast is the true test

If you want true culinary excess you have to go north to Scotland...there you'll enjoy Haggies or Finnen Haddie and fried 'tatie's

Great stuff.

They allready have a qual limit. I beleive its somewhere in the range of 114% (someone can check me on that) of the top qualifing single lap time.

One of the problems is that most of the privateers can put a single flying lap down that will get them in the race, but they don't seem to be able to maintain a pace near that durring the race.
