It would be nice to see a close championship race this year but I think RC will run away withn it again....I just dont see anyone else challenging him.I hope Im wrong;maybe Reed will realize his potential this year. Im waiting for Bubba to move up to 250;I expect him to challenge and eventually dethrone RC. Of course I said the same about Pastrana....so much for my expertise.

Could someone explain the difference between the "FIM" standings and the "AMA/THQ" standings? Are the FIM standings some sort of "non-US" world standings? And what's the point of that? Why no FIM standings for 125ccs?

Thanks.

The AMA contracts out the rights to run and market the supercross series to Clear Channel Entertainment, they run the events and market it.

This past summer clear channel aranged with the FIM to run the FIM world supercross championship in combination with the AMA american supercross championship. They added 4 or so events outside the USA and that a competitor had to compete in at least one race outside the USA to be considered for the FIM series. I don't think the FIM deal includes the 125 class.

I think that it is a way for Clear Channel to take the spotlight off of the AMA. The AMA and Clear Channel are only partners because they need each other. Honda would not give a factory effort (Carmichael) to a Clear Channel event unless the AMA is present. The AMA can't find a decent venue without Clear Channel. Clear Channel has all the stadiums locked up with music/concert contracts.
