I race up here in the nothwest, and use contacts. They can be a problem. You have to remember to keep blinking to keep them wet. It's hard to remember because you concentrate so much on racing. I tried to use glasses. but when you get up arround 160 mph or so they tend to fibrate. not a good feeling at that speed

I wear contacts on very long rides. I would think that you could deal with contacts in a sprint race fairly easily. Having a contact pop out makes Nicky's race even more amazing, though. I have ridden with one lens out, and it can be very difficult.

Something else- glasses fog up. That is predictable. There is no Fog City for glasses, so contacts are actually more reliable, especially in a humid or cold and humid climate.
