Default Re: Buell-go, Tripp, go.

Here's wishing much success to Tripp Nobles et al this season. I had the pleasure of meeting him at the Cycle World show in Atlanta a few weeks ago.

Default Talk about a stacked class...

1.2 L Buells vs 850cc water cooled V-twins (750 if desmodromic), so of course they effectively only face 750 ducatis and SV650s.

Too bad they still struggle to win.

Default No kidding!

I do find it very amusing that they lost last season, even though the class was basically built for them to win! Maybe the FireThunderLightningElectricBolt will have better luck this year... Oh wait, they wanted to make that legal to compete in AMA Supersport. How about one small step at a time instead of delusions of grandeur? I hate to bring up this same old subject, but how long will it be until the US is capable of building a competitive motorcycle? We can plant a cruise missile launched from a submarine over unimaginable distances into a one-meter target, but nooooo, we canÂ’t even win a simple race series stacked in the favor of US manufacturers!

Default Although to be fair to Harley...

Harley's irrational commitment to the old V-twins and continued refusal to give Buell the engine R&D budget or the ability to buy other engines does pretty much doom Buell to struggle even in a "made to measure" class, as those 750 ducati's are NICE and the SV650 is becoming a racebike for the masses.

If buell want the CleanSweep7, err, Firebolt to lose heavily in SS750, they are welcome to, as they will be facing the same Ducati 750s, plus GSXR-750s and ZX-R7s.

Default Sponsorship rears its ugly head

... experience the pure streetfighter attitude, style and performance only found onboard a Buell...

Putting the ads in the middle of the stories is a necessary evil; that I understand. But, could you guys try a little harder to diguise the next fluff piece that comes through? Just try to fool us, okay? Most of us won't catch it, and we'll feel much less cheap after we read it.

Remember, we'll be watching: we know how Burns generally feels about Buell, so we'll notice if he gets censored by what is obviously one of your biggest sponsors.

Gotta love this post system; it's like democracy in action, baby!

I still love you, MO...
