This guy got off pretty easy because we’ve seen much worse first-time experiences. Best line from the video – “I thought he was gonna go.”

Goof ball. “Bush fixation” at its finest . . .

  • Starmag

At least he had ape hangers so he looked “cool” while he stuffed it at 2mph.

  • kenneth_moore

Doesn’t the girl in the video know a rider never “goes” until everyone has had sufficient time to absorb the sounds, scents, and sights of their awesome motorcycle? It can take 4 or 5 minutes to appreciate the loping idle sound of an HD alone…and a few more for that unburned gas/exhaust boquet.

A thoughtful rider will let their bike idle at least 8 minutes before pulling away.

    • DickRuble

.nah..6 of the 8 minutes would be revving it to the red line… especially if it’s a straight pipe..

      • 12er

I thought that was due to no Idle screw…

        • Gruf Rude

Vibration does tend to back out those idle screws . . .

  • TC

Another angry white male, bitterly clinging to his ape hangers.

So tubby, bald computer nerd gets a badass forearm tat and a HOG in hopes of pursuing the babes. Excellent work!

Now I’ll tell my funny friend story. I’ve got a friend who rides quite a bit but sometimes makes questionable decisions.

His HOG had a dead battery and he couldn’t bump start it so he and some friends TIED A FREAKIN ROPE AROUND THE FORK TUBES! in an attempt to pull start it with a car.

The results were predictable. My only lament is that I wasn’t there to see it and there is no video. I coulda made a million with that one on You Tube.

  • Vrooom

No dude, you don’t need a helmet, beginners are naturals. Ape hangers just make it easier to look cool.

This solves a big mystery. People always wondered where all the HD’s bought in the 90’s and early 2000’s went. With all the phenomenal sales, there should be a market glut since by now their owners are either in nursing homes or admiring pansies from the roots up. And here you have it, most of the HDs never survived the first ride.

  • Old MOron

Well, the guy was a good sport and put not-his-finest-moment on the web. He wasn’t going fast, so I hope his bike didn’t get messed up. I mean, he was completely giddy with delight for his new bike. I didn’t enjoy seeing him crash.

    • DickRuble

Maybe his GF/Wife/x-wife posted it.. kind of revenge non-porn.I loved it.

  • Craig Hoffman

Funny video. Good thing a car did not come along at the wrong time though, it coulda been a lot worse.

In the end, Bush 1, Newb Harley rider 0. Game, set, match, hopefully the beginnings of a lesson learned 😛

  • JMDonald

It is a right of passage for the owners of this kind of bike to do this. We may not understand it. It may not be our thing. All we can do is appreciate it for what it is. I believe it is genetic in origin. They cannot help themselves.

  • Gruf Rude

Anyone else think that is an odd (and very awkward) place for a starter button?
