NASCAR legends Richard Petty and Harry Gant (both now retired after great careers) have been regulars throughout the Ride’s 20-year history. Petty did most of the first 10 or 12 before taking off to tend to his two NASCAR teams. Gant is credited with doing all 20 Rides, even though he was injured in a highway wreck on his way to the 2011 start point in Lake Placid, N.Y.
