Product description

It has an original Electra Glide speedometer (but not original to this particular bike) rebuilt by John Bordas who specializes in rebuilding old Harley speedometers. The heads were just rebuilt by Don Sullivan at Head Hog -- Don has a proprietary process for rebuilding old Harley heads where he builds up the old valve seat, then grinds the seat back down to factory specs. This is necessary because these old seats were actually cast into the aluminum head so they cannot be pressed out. Panhead stories are rampant that if you remove (i.e. grind) the old seat out and press a new seat in (as you would on a more modern head), chances are unacceptably high that the new seat will either fall out (too loose) or crack the head (too tight). Don is the only guy in the country, to my knowledge, at least, who can do this and the wait is about one year and it is not cheap. While the heads were off, I had the cylinders ground .0090 over stock, and installed new pistons and rings. The bottom end is tight.

Original Linkert carburetor. High torque All Balls starter works great. Wheel bearings recently repacked. Brakes are good. There are no issues -- bike is ready to go. I have taken this bike on a couple 300 mile trips. It has the sweetest ride and is the coolest bike I have ever owned. I have ridden Harleys since 1973 and have owned a dozen Harleys during that time. I am now hanging it up and hope this ride goes to a good home. I think the reserve is reasonable but am not giving this machine away.
