On December 30, 1998, five years of planning, financing, designing, engineering, and marketing culminated in the shape of the first production bike, Staying true to the emphasis on heritage, was immediately delivered to the Excelsior-Henderson Heritage Museum in the lobby of the Belle Plaine headquarters.
The Super X was built from December 1998 through August 12, 1999. In all, there were less than 2000 Super X motorcycles built.
Excelsior-Henderson ceased production in September 1999
